It has been announced recently that Strikeforce Light Heavyweight champion Gagard Mousasi (23-2-1) will fight Gary Goodridge (23-18-1) at Fields Dynamite 2009 in Tokyo on the popular New Year's Eve event.
Mousasi, who trains with Fedor, and is also regarded as one of the best in the world, is coming of recent victories over Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou, Renato Sobral, and Mark Hunt. Mousasi is currently under open contract with Strikeforce, which means that he can fight with other organisations. This poses some risk for the Strikeforce Light Heavyweight champ, as it has been said that he has very little to gain by beating the much bigger Goodridge, yet losing could tarnish his winning streak and credibility.
