According to Sherdog, Justin Eilers was recently shot dead during a domestic disturbance in Idaho.
An autopsy revealed that the cause of death was a single gunshot wound to the chest which had pierced his lung before exiting his body.
Eilers, a former linebacker for Iowa State, was introduced to Mixed Martial Arts by close friend Jens Pulver. Eiler, 30 years old, had made several appearances in the UFC, but was more recently featured in the EliteXC tournament.
