Mauricio "Shogun" Rua injured - unable to fight Chuck

Mauricio "Shogun" Rua has pulled out of his highly anticipated bout against Chuck Liddell due to injury.

He recently ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament - the same knee which he had undergone surgery for prior to fighting Forrest Griffin. Taking his place will be the undefeated light heavyweight Rashad Evans, who has come off a draw against Tito Ortiz.


Liddell to Fight Shogun in UK on 7th June

According to MMA Weekly Chuck Liddell is set take on Mauricio Shogun Rua in a light heavyweight bout in June this year. As yet the location and event has not been decided, but the fight will be occuring in London, England.

Liddell is coming off a victory over Shogun's former teammate Wanderlei Silva. Shogun is looking for his first victory in the Octagon after his previous loss to Forrest Griffin at UFC 76 in September of 2006.
